Great Basket***Confusing delivery terms

I purchased the Steeplechase Vineyards Quartet
basket as a birthday gift for someone special and was very frustrated to find that it was delivered nearly a week late. I was informed that the shipping date is what date I want it to be shipped and not the date I want it delivered as most companies do. If I purchase a gift basket for someone I care about what day it is delivered not what day they started shipping it. I called about this issue and the gentleman was sypathetic in a backwards way. He kept saying "I'm sorry you misunderstood". He offered me free shipping as a consolation but the basket I purchased already came with free shipping so really he did not offer anything...very much like his apology for MY misunderstanding. Although the baskets are beautiful and I enjoy sending baskets as I live far from all of my family, I am not sure I will go through this particular company again.

I purchased this gift basket for my step-mother for her birthday.

Also, I purchased another basket for my sister's birthday at virtually the same time. Ordered one with chocolate products for my sister, but it was recommended to select a basket with other types of food items for my step-mother since she lives in a desert community (no chance of melting chocolate)!

They were both thrilled with their baskets. Such an easy way to surprise someone. My sister sent a photo of her basket (the Bon Appetit,) and it looked just like it did online. Really liked the free delivery that came with those two baskets, too!

Gift basket was great, however my sister's birthday was April 6 and I ordered the basket delivered on April 5. The basket did not arrive until Apr. 8. This was disappointing to all of us because it would have been used for her party on Apr 6.
