These cookies are delicious morsels of Italian tradition and complement just about anything. Especially wine! Pair these with one of our gift baskets and give as a holiday gift, or keep them to yourself. Either way, you need to make these!

Ingredients:
1 C. Sugar
1 C. White Wine of choice
5 C. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
2/3 C. Vegetable Oil
Pinch of Salt
Additional sugar to coat cookies

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°.

  2. Combine the sugar, wine, oil, baking powder, and pinch of salt in a medium mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly, adding 1 Cup of flour at a time and mixing before adding the next. Continue until all flour is added.

  3. Let the dough rest for at least 5 minutes (don't skip this step!)

  4. In the meantime, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  5. On a flour-covered surface, roll a small piece of dough (a little smaller than a golf ball) into a thick rope, then roll that piece in the extra sugar to coat.

  6. Bend the dough "rope" into a circle and place on the baking sheet. Repeat until all dough is used.

  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until they reach a light golden brown. Let cool before serving or storing.
