I was very excited for this gift I was sending but sadly the experience was nothing close to what I expected. I have not experienced this before and must say I am highly disappointed. I didn't believe the comments on the this gift basket but I should have. Very disappointing. I paid extra for "fast shipping" meaning 2 weeks delivery.. and 11 days after I put in the order and 2 days before supposed delivery I received call that the company doesn't have it and won't be able to fulfill my order.

They promised me it would be delivered on Tuesday the 3rd. I was told that a delivery was attempted on the 3rd but no one was home ???? There was someone home ALL DAY on the 3rd !!! Very disapointed . Ric Nelson

The product arrived 3 days later than expected. As such, we were not able to enjoy the Dom given the late arrival I ordered the basket to arrive on December 27th, the first day of our planned anniversary trip to Maui. It was ordered well in advance on December 18th, but it still did not arrive until December 30th. We ended up leaving more than half the bottle in the hotel suite since we couldn't take it on the plane home with us. We were incredibly disappointed that delivery didn't happen as scheduled. Given the holiday season, I would have thought that ample time would have been given to deliver the basket (even to Hawaii); it didn't ship until 12/24.

The basket was amazing and was everything promised. The only problem was the let down when my parents opened the boxes of chocolate to find that all of them had melted inside the box. The Godiva, Ghirardelli, all of it just a blob that lost much of it's flavor. Fortunately they loved the thought and the champagne was still good.

Champagne is produced from wine grapes grown in the Champagne region in France. Champagne appellation law requires grapes to be grown according to appellation rules in order to be used in the production of Champagne. Most Champagne is made up of a blend of three different grape varieties. Champagne is categorized as either "vintage" or "non-vintage". The majority of Champagne produced today is "non-vintage", meaning that it was produced with a blend of grapes from different vintages. "Vintage" Champagne is made from grapes that are at least 85% of the same vintage. "Non-vintage" Champagne is bottle aged for approximately 15 months and should be consumed within 1-2 years. "Vintage" Champagne is bottle aged for at least 3 years before it is released for sale and can usually benefit from some bottle-aging but there is generally no improvement 10 years beyond the vintage date. The vast majority of Champagne will lose flavor and fizz after a couple of years in the bottle, especially if it is not stored in optimum conditions.
The bubbles in Champagne are formed during the second fermentation process when sugar and yeast are added to the wine. This typically occurs in the actual bottle but can also take place in a fermentation tank. The body or sweetness of Champagne is determined by the amount of residual sugar per liter. Champagne is classified as Extra Brut, Brut, Extra Dry, and Demi-Sec. Extra Brut Champagne is extra dry and contains 0.0-0.5% of residual sugar per liter. Brut Champagne is dry and contains 0.5-1.5% of residual sugar per liter. Extra Dry Champagne is middle of the road dry and contains 1.2-2.0% of residual sugar per liter. Demi-sec Champagne is pretty sweet and contains 3.3-5.0% of residual sugar per liter. Champagne typically has bouquets / flavors of apple, citrus, toast, butter, pear, strawberry, and vanilla.
